David Wasserman

You dug up my earth and ended my r(ai)(eig)n.
Still, you’re soaking up every ounce of me.
Is there any of me left or am I
a cloud caught in the cycle filled with rain?

Still, you’re soaking up every ounce of me.
I feel as if I am about to burst –
a cloud caught in the cycle filled with rain
and child-scaring thunder and lightning.

I feel as if I am about to burst –
I want to lash out at you with my words
and child-scaring thunder and lightning.
Feeling our love has evaporated.

I want to lash out at you with my words.
Is there any of me left or am I
feeling our love has evaporated?
Is there any of me left or am I
